White Light
Vanessa Garcia
Veronica Gonzales, a struggling Latina artist, is trying to find her place in the elite world of painting. Moved by her endless determination and her willingness not to become a high school art teacher Veronica pushes herself forward in an attempt to overcome her artistic and personal life struggles including the sudden death of her father. This novel written by Vanessa Garcia embodies a dichotomy between the art and its creator. At times we use the world as our canvas, leaving brushstrokes along our path. Other times we are the canvas, and the world leaves its mark on us. The protagonist's endless attempts to shape her destiny are contrasted with the inevitable and painful loss which is bound to shape her outcome. Written in an genuine and honest style, White Light is a story of artistic passion, love and grief. It is a novel that will make the reader contemplate the significance of his or her own life masterpiece using only but the hues we find along our journey. |
