The Red Grasshopper

Translated by Daniela Villegas

The red grasshopper was resting in the sown field, and the deaf grasshopper fell upon him from a leap, and he said:
“Hey, boy, you jumped on me!”
He answered:
“Eh! What are you saying? You’re already old?”
He responded:
“I am already old.”
“If you really are old, tell me, how many times have you seen the Bielgo dance, also the race of the sparks?”
“And you, how many times have you seen them?”
“Myself, seven times, and you have barely been born and you already call yourself old. You see, I have already beat you, you can say nothing of that which I ask you.”
The deaf grasshopper said goodbye, he flew and he left.
