Exhumaciones
Samuel Trigueros
In the poetry book, Exhumaciones, the author Samuel Trigueros makes visible, as part of his own catharsis, the injustices toward his people. He digs into the anonymous realities with an honest lexicon, nude metaphors and powerful images, demonstrating his poetic prowess without idiomatic paraphernalia. In each page of the book, heart throbs of a convulsed society are intertwined with the author's personal experiences. Samuel, a militant of the word, is a first hand witness who does not stay silent. It is his coherent and urgent discourse that prompts us to look at the eyes of others; those who live a less fortunate reality where violence is the pillow in which they rest their broken dreams. "Atravesamos los manglares de la muerte/ Y todavía no entendimos que/ Esto/ Es la vida:/ Este jardín de horas y caléndulas en llamas,/ Este encadenado laberinto/ En cuyo centro/ Agonizan las palabras." In Exhumaciones, the author makes poetry an ally to help us discover the hidden heartbeat of "another reality", a call for attention, a journey where social and personal issues walk hand in hand. An honest testimonial poetry and above all, consequential. |
