The Dead Will Rise and Save Us is a collection of fifteen unsensored stories by Paul Pedroza that take place in and around El Paso, Texas, giving life to the culturally rich and mysterious southern border region.

The characters in the stories share a constant struggle to find acceptance and fulfillment in their lives, all while residing in a seemingly crude and at times dark environment. In this book, the author unapologetically tackles controversial issues such as racial oppression, political and social failure, crisis of identity and much more. ​

The Dead Will Rise and Save Us will certainly start up conversations which are often avoided for their controversial nature. Stories like Subtle Shades of Green, The Man Who Ate His Own Head, and el paso will press readers to take a long and hard look in the mirror as they question their own motives and the role they play in society.
