Becomes Social Media Rockstar
Receives Publication Contract from Jade Publishing

Pedro Larez with some of his characters

With currently over 111,000 followers on facebook, Pedro Larez has rapidly become a social media rockstar and one of Mexico's leading comic strip illustrators. Through his originality and wit, he has been able to put Aztec mythology on the spotlight, creating a world where Aztec deities share their daily life and adventures in a hilarious humanlike fashion.

Some of his popular characters include deities such as: Quetzacoatl, Xochiquetzal, Tlaloc, Chalchiuhtlicue, Tonatiuh,
and even a Tlacuache (a Possum), as well as many others. His artistic innovation and the uncharted nature of his work, provide him with an infinite amount of material and possibilities. It is worth mentioning that his unique style has recently landed him a publishing contract with Jade Publishing for his upcoming book, Aztectopia, which will be available soon in both Spanish and English versions.

In a medium that has been typically dominated by Japanese and European storylines, Pedro Larez gives us a breath of fresh air, both artistically and culturally. He gives us an exciting new proposal of ancient stories from this side of the continent that have been long overdue. He gives us something to call our own.

Below is a short preview of his upcoming book, Aztectopia.
