Debris
David Miklos
Puerto Trinidad is a town left behind, haunted by the memories it hides. Mothers. The young. Those who have escaped. Cycles of life and death, secrets and curiosity. Somehow bound by consciousness and separated by time and distance, the characters in this story connect sceneries that peek into the lives of the old who remain in town and the young who have left. Their voices drowning in a sea of stirring voyages. Debris by David Miklos is a book that cannot be explained. It can only be experienced. It should be re-read, as the connections after the first reading will change the lyrical clarities of the narrative and turn it into a completely different chronicle. |
David Miklos was born in San Antonio, Texas and raised in Mexico. He is an associate professor of history and literature at Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE). Debris is his first novel translated into English.
