Two men from different walks of life travel to the land of opportunity in search of a new beginning. Each of them, driven by their life's passions, have chosen their journey. Despite their differences, both Roberto and Ricardo share many parallels, including the obstacles, prejudice and loneliness they have faced in this new land. Destiny has now brought these men together in a life and death situation involving their past, the melancholy for their homeland, their family traumas, as well as guns and hostages.

Arrimao by Edgar Smith is a captivating Spanish novel filled with action and a deep sense of reflexion on the lives of those who are pushed over the edge of life's misfortunes. In this novel we witness a desperate attempt to survive a harsh reality in a world that seems to reject those who are less fortunate. Edgar Smith's originality and skillful use of time and space captures a distinctive literary approach that gives life to the pages.
