Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
At Latino Book Review we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse literary community that celebrates the richness of Latinx cultures, experiences, and perspectives. Our organization recognizes the immense value of diversity in literature and the transformative power it holds in shaping understanding, empathy, and connection across communities.
Rooted in the belief that every voice deserves to be heard and every story deserves to be told, we strive to amplify the voices of Latinx writers from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, socioeconomic status, education level, and geographic location. We are dedicated to creating a platform that reflects the full spectrum of Latinidad, encompassing the myriad of identities and narratives within our community.
We recognize that promoting diversity is an ongoing journey that requires intentional action and continuous learning. As such, we are committed to fostering an organizational culture that values and prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work. This includes actively seeking out partnerships and collaborations with organizations that share our commitment to diversity and amplifying marginalized voices within our community.
To this end, Latino Book Review (LBR) will implement the principles of DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) within its leadership, employees, and community to build an inclusive literary ecosystem within the Latinx literary arts realm. We are dedicated to quantifying and monitoring DEI metrics, evaluating the impact of administrative and organizational actions aimed at enhancing inclusion within LBR, and establishing sustainable processes for addressing inequities in the literary community.
