The Road to Llorona Park
Christopher Carmona

Picture

The Road to Llorona Park is a culturally rooted collection of short stories by Christopher Carmona which take place in the enchanting frontera of the Río Grande Valley of South Texas; a region that has become one of most electrifying literary scenes in the last decade.

With a smooth yet piercing writing style, the author creates vivid images of the good, the bad and the ugly within our society during times of political turmoil. Stories such as The Unused Gift, The Road to Llorona Park and E(x)iled take us on a thrilling journey that ranges from personal to social conflict. Other stories such as The Sublime Dress and The Black Box provide us with hope of a better tomorrow where symbolism and poetry can change one's destiny.

The well crafted consciousness of the characters as well as Carmona's inherently natural style make The Road to Llorona Park an absorbing read which promises to push the reader's imagination in unforeseen directions while witnessing the parallels of our collective reality.
Christopher Carmona (Donna, Texas) was a Pushcart Prize nominee in 2013 and the inaugural writer-in-residence for the Langdon Review Writers Residency Program in 2015.

The Road to Llorona Park is a Stephen F. Austin Press publication and can be purchased through Amazon. Click here to purchase.
